Ok so Im having a new motor installed in my 05XBScg I the new motor is an 06 I ordered a new primary cover for it... The new cover will not fit over the shifter shaft?? I even if I mistakenly ordered an 05 cover I was under the assumption that they are interchangable?
Did I just get a bad part from harly? I called harley and they said the could order a new part under warranty but it would take another week to get in... Checked with a machine shop and they could bore it out to fit for $45-$145!! What to do??? What for a new part or get it bored out? Just need to know if the covers are the same for the years?? The part # on the inside of the cover is 25543-02
I have found that the xb9 covers wont fit on an xb12. I had to take a drill bit and drill out the molded shoulder at the bottom of the hole. Then grind it down a hair, and press the stock bushing in there.
