nice only thing better would have been if you personally found the bike then you would have gotten to keep it. ive kind of got a thing for vintage bikes
Seen this story on Hellforleather. Coolest looking BMW iv ever seen, and a really cool story behind it. Here is a few pics. If you click on the HellForLeather link at the bottom you can see more images. Notice the rear brake is a heel pedal, and the shifter comes from the tank just below the right handlebar.

The bike was found in a crate in June, 2005, where it'd lain neglected since the second world war. Now restored to as-new condition, the R7 is traveling to bike shows across Europe. sorry guys....I know its an old thread and can't help it....im a huge fan of that era bikes and have been doing a lot of research on r7....also found this sketch recently so it looks like they are bringing it back to life...
