If it's just for aesthetics, why not pull off the blue one and paint it?
I'm thinking about getting the pro line springs from buellparts. . . purely for the red spring. . .The blue just doesn't fit my bike. Is it a bad idea? I'll be riding my bike for a commuter but we don't have bad roads out here. and being new to riding I won't know if a ride is rough or not? will i need to adjust settings after i put the new springs on? what kind of handling differences will it make? i understand it is stiffer but don't have any idea what it will mean to me when i ride my bike.

If I'll get a better or quicker handling bike for 76 bucks. . . then I might as well go for it? I don't mind spending the money so long as I know it will enhance the bikes performance.
Replacing the blue spring with the red, may cost you in traction. (i.e. the rear may want to slide on you when carving)
Might try this first: Buell Racing suspension settings
Be careful before you leap my friend. You don't want that rear too stiff.Going down sucks usually.Think about painting your spring...
