Don't forget the swing arm conversion.

As for weight, the total weight of the belt system is less than the chain.

I love that I don't have to lube or tension a belt.

I was told that you can not go to a smaller pulley than a 51 in the rear or bigger than a 21 in the front without having to do motor work ,which is going to a big bore kit which is expensive. What Ive read anyone that has gone to chain conversion has only done it for race or track, because they stay on the bottom gears. On the highway you ask to much of the motor from the fourth and fifth gears with those pully ratios.

the belt tensioner turns into a chain tensioner so there is no need for a new swing arm.

it all depends wat your gonna do with the the motor 21 51 is fine for street driving you could drop one or pick one up in the rear depending on if you want top end or low end .

Yeah your belt will break, but the 04+ belts last 50k miles on a 100+hp bike. Find a chain that can do that.
Dang Dave you are getting after this one lol Be easy on the guy

But he has a good point. The new generation belts last a long time!! My 04 has it's original belt with no problems. And the best part... no maintenance!
