The filter and pipe will work, the ECM will not.
If i were to buy a race kit with the ecm filter muffler etc etc could it be swapped out with the ecm on the 09? I am just curious i saw one for sale on the cheap still new in the box.
Sean
The ECMs would not be interchangeable. The pipe and the filter would be useable, however.
Don't waste your money on a Race ECM. It won't work for your bike, and there are solutions out there that will allow you to adjust your ECM to provide the same performance gains.
Ok that being said If i were to buy the kit for the filter and pipe and just used those and did a TPS reset would the computer automaticaly compensate for the upgrades or would i need a Dyno tune? Also with ecmspy and a cable would i be able to edit the maps, I am under the impression the ecmspy cable will work with the program if another program is used in conjuction with it, however i could easily be mistaken.
thanks for the replys guys

also on a side note, difference in the xb9 and xb12 race pipes? any difference? as far as inlet and outlet size or mounting on the bikes themselves?
Sean
There is no difference in race pipes.
You don't NEED to tune, but it is highly recommended when you are doing both intake and exhaust. The 08+ bikes are able to compensate much better than the older bikes, but they can still use a tune. Where are you located green_head?

I currently have a 05 City xb9sx with the race exhaust and race ecm. She is pretty fast and responsive. I just bought a 09 xb12scg looking for a little more power. The bike came with a jardine exhaust and I don't know if the ECM has been modified. If it is stock, will the 12 have more acceleration and power than my 9,set up with the race kit? I am in Costa Rica and I don't trust the Harley guys here to touch the bike with race modifications.
