looks interesting
So, I already cut up my stock muffler:

It was too loud. My girlfriend likes it, so we swapped mufflers, and I cut up another one.
Here is the plan:
I cut 4" off the middle and secondary tubes:
By secondary tube I mean the perforated one:
How does it sound?
20-25% louder than stock. Very bassy at idle, but more diesel truck than loud drone like my last one. I like it. I wish it had more of a "lumpy" tone at idle, but it sounds great when you're on it. It is certianly not loud, though.
I think the mod is a very appealing choice for the very limited group of people who want a slight increase in sound and have welding facilities. If you cannot weld, this mod is a non-starter, and if you want a loud pipe, you might want to pass on this, too.
I have ridden around on what was basically a straight pipe, a stock muffler, and now this, for basically a week each. I can say that my passing power is noticeably better with this muffler than the other two. However, I wouldnt say I feel like it provides any more or less power. I notice that I run out of gear much quicker that previously.
Me starting it up, riding out, come back, and doing a quick fly-by:

sounds good
i modified a second hand muffler i got and noticed that i lost quite a bit of low RPM power/torque.
once i got to about 4000RPM it takes off like a rocket but feels boggy and slow getting to 4000RPM
not quite sure what to do now...
i want more power down in the low RPM range.
For starters get a Race EEPROM on your ECM then start datalog tuning it yourself or just get it custom-mapped.not quite sure what to do now...
