Thread: 1125 fuel economy

  1. #1
Picked up my 1125CR on Friday and I still have never ridden one. I thought I wanted the 1125R when it came out until I rode it, I didn't really like the seating position and it had no low end grunt. Then Buell came out with the CR and I really like the look of it and just couldn't pass up on the opportunity to have a two year warranty and use the extra value of the bike to pay off my 18%interest Snap-On account. I also get to keep my '05 XB12S. I originally wanted to wait a year or two before buying it and I wanted to throw a lightning tail on it, but with Buell out of business I had to move fast and think I may keep it original.

Anyway, I'm curious what kind of fuel economy I should expect in the real world. With my XB12 I usually get around 40MPG, though I have managed 52 around home and 58 at Sturgis. I read in a review a number in the low 30's, but I also heard that the newest program improved fuel economy and feel. Has anyone ridden an '09 long enough to have an idea? I'm also curious if the computer's computation is accurate. Thanks.

    Try this:

    http://www.wikihow.com/Calculate-You...ficiency-(MPG)

Or better yet, get a app on your iPhone that will do this for you. i.e. Gas Cubby

Don't have an iPhone, GET ONE!!!:D

Mileage per US EPA Urban Trace, CITY 39 mpg (6 l/100 km)
Mileage per US EPA HIGHWAY Fuel Economy Test 53 mpg (4.4 l/100 km)

    from Buell site

on my XB12R with the race ECM I managed to get 63 mpg over a single tank once, stayed right between 53 and 57 mph the entire tank so I've come to believe the numbers they claim are actually pretty true

I'd say with normal riding expect 36-47 mpg depending on where you are riding and what speed you are at.

I get about 30-32 mpg on my CR.

I also ran it out of fuel at 26 miles after the fuel light came on. Not very far compared to my XB. Good thing it died next to my buddys house.

I usually average about 35 MPG in town and 45 highway on my 08 1125R, and I am at nearly 6000 ft above sea level. I have seen numbers as high as 55 though, if I ride her gently... but where is the fun in that? :)

my avg reads 26 and I was coming up with about 29 when calculating. Its stock ,I'm in Jersey so its cold and I've been riding a little aggressive-mostly back roads and minimal highway as of yet.
