Been reading around the websites on mods for the bike and one is for the airbox.
One of the mods is to remove the rubber snorkel....
Would this by any chance be the Velocity stack as described in the service manual and if so has anyone done this and how well does this work??
    Cheers
    Justin

DO NOT remove your velocity stack!!! you will loose out on power big time! the mod is for the snorkel that goes from the left side air scoop to the air box, I don’t see any problems or benefits of this, but I figure mr. buell might have put it there to solve some type of issue....or he just thought it looked nice?

The newer XBs don't have the snorkel. They breathe from right behind the gas filler instead.

By snorkel do you mean left side scoop?

I think the older XBs actually breathe from the left side scoop through a duct that comes up through the bottom of the airbox floor plate.
