So, it needs a fuel pump. Man, there is some seriously sketchy stuff going on here. Probably not from the guy I bought it from, but man, oh man!

The first clue is the toggle switch needed to operate the fuel pump. Yes, a toggle switch.

So, I pulled the pump and things went from bad to goofy. I made a comment earlier about the extent some people will go through to avoid fixing a problem. Here is it in real life.

So... anyone have a fuel pump? Dead or alive?

Aaron: That pump is the "Ross Chastain Martinsville Wall Ride" to end all pumps.
Just saw your PM to me and answered. I don't have any cores left or otherwise would fire one over to you. Some on Ebay but pricey so hopefully another board member has a junker they can sell you. I'll keep looking for you.

I’m on the hunt for another pump assembly. Dead or alive.

Rich people problems.

Why buy one when you can have a rabid wolf chew a piece of aluminum into shape, use a whole tube of not-gas rated RTV, all red wires, and a toggle switch?

Well, so far progress on the "I want to be a cool as Kurlon (but will never be, because I'm not Kurlon)" Ulysses race bike project is here:

1. I fitted a Firebolt subframe, and tail section to the bike
2. Trimmed out all of the unneccesary wiring and circuits from the fuse/relay box/harness
3. Extended the fuse box harness to fit under where the pass seat normally is.
4. Hopefully sorted out my fuel pump (Big thanks to Barrett, no thanks to CoOter).
5. I built a mount for the instrument panel, since I ditched the stock module
6. Mounting a 1125R front fairing to the bike (bracket should arrive tomorrow?)
7. Converted to Firebolt/Lightning peg mounts (I just threw a set out off that wrecked bike-dammit!) with eBay special regular pegs
8. Replaced the hokey (come crack my header) exhaust, some hack put on the bike with a stock pipe (my track has sound limits)
9. Renthal Ultra low bar
10. Lightning/Firebolt rear shock. Thanks Magnesium Mike!
11. Rebuilt front forks.
12. New spark plugs (HD 10R12X)

Still waiting for my Backmarker Racing stickers to show up. Womp Womp! :upset:

Nice! Part of me really REALLY wants to go to a racier subframe, but I'm not quite ready to make that commitment yet.

I now actually want these to exist. "Team Backmarker, protecting the race from surprise alien attack since 1906!" Insert graphics of a couple bikes racing with alien saucers blasting the tarmac behind them.

PM address for gift bag:black_eyed:

You can see them, above the swing arm, just below the *-hole sticker:eagerness:

CoOter is being a jErK and taunting me to go bigger on the race bike. Damn him!

"The regular ZTL brake isnt good enough for track use."

"You'll overheat it and go off the course"

When I commented that my R3 has a terrible front brake in comparison, and I've never overheated it or had any problems on the track.

He replied with this:

*sigh*

So, I went looking through my boxes and found this.

And it took how long for you to find that!?! I keep them in my wallet and literally stuck two onto victims... uh... buddies.. cars today! Let the countdown begin;)

At first I thought it was a weird shaped orange. I think you put it on when we were at Chuckwalla and I didn't find it until I was back in Phx. So at least a few days, but probably weeks.
